1. Education

  • 1986 - graduate of the Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest (at present University "Politehnica" of Bucharest), Faculty of Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Profile, specialization Manufacturing Technology. Graduation thesis regarding the processing through electric erosion with electrode-tools with a orbital-tapered motion

  • 1997 - PhD in Technical Mechanics and Mechanical Vibrations, at University "Politehnica" of Bucharest. Thesis: Contributions to the theoretical and experimental study of chaotic phenomena in the cutting process

2. Professional experience

  • 1986-1989 - engineer at the Institute of Scientific Research and Technological Engineering for Electronics in Bucharest, transferred to the Industrial Unit "Acumulatorul" in Bucharest. Leading activities: elaboration of several technologies for single exemplar pieces and programs for the production of these pieces with computer numerical control machine-tools

  • 1989-1990 - assistant professor at University "Politehnica" of Bucharest, Department of Mechanics

  • 1990-1995 - entitled assistant professor at University "Politehnica" of Bucharest, Department of Mechanics

  • 1995-2002 - lecturer at University "Politehnica" of Bucharest, Department of Mechanics

  • Gold Medal at the International Exhibition of Inventions, Geneva, 2002, for the paper "L'entrainement des transporteurs a bande de caoutchouc" (co-team UPB)

  • Second Prize for 2007 awarded by the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research (National Authority for Scientific Research), for excellency in research in the category "Complex research-development projects", thematical area "Transports", for the project Aero-mechanical analysis and synthesis of a flapping wing MAV; demonstrator - FLAWIAS (participant as a member of the U.P.B. research team)
